Bremen and Cologne, 12 June 2026 — Bo.rentals launches simultaneously in two cities. The company brings a rental concept to market that has not existed in this combination before: transparent structures and a digital customer journey that is personally supported at all times.
"We wanted to question every aspect of the standard car rental playbook. That started with the counter concept at the station," says co-founder Melanie Reichardt. "With us, customers should be able to combine the simplicity and speed of digital processes with a sense of comfort — asking questions and receiving advice at any time."
The station concept supports this approach: a lounge area instead of a standing counter, specialty coffee and fresh water instead of a filter machine, hybrid self-checkouts instead of metal boxes with PIN codes. Customers can also choose whether to document the vehicle condition themselves via the app or have a team member handle it.
"With us, every customer decides for themselves how much digital feels right," adds Stefan Schösser, co-founder and primarily responsible for IT systems. The fleet at launch comprises small cars, compact and mid-size vehicles, supplemented by hybrid models, and will soon be expanded with luxury cars, people carriers and vans. Electric vehicles are also planned. Bo.rentals is already working on expansion into further cities through its own locations as well as the available franchise and licensing model. Internationalisation is also part of the strategic roadmap.
